WWE Furthers Generosity Towards Woodland West Elementary

The last time WrestleMania was in New Orleans, World Wrestling Entertainment superstars spent the day at Woodland West Elementary building a new KaBOOM! playground. With the WWE’s biggest show returning to town on April 8, it was a given that these sports entertainment heroes would return to Woodland West and the Jefferson Parish Public School System as well.

The WWE returned to Woodland West Elementary for Read Across America Day and the WrestleMania Reading Challenge. The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Dana Warrior, Jessie Elaban, and Brennan Williams read “Trombone Shorty” to over 300 students and personally handed out books to every child. First Book also donated over 2,000 books to students as part of the event.

In 2015, First Book and the WWE also teamed up to host a reading celebration at Woodland West Elementary School. Woodland West Elementary is WWE’s second visit to JPPSS this year. They also held a reading event at Keller Elementary.
