West Jefferson Students Create Mural for National Art Education Association’s National Convention

With the support of art-material supplier Liquitex, 12 West Jefferson High School students were selected to design and create a 16-foot mural onsite at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) convention, which was held from March 26-28, 2015 in New Orleans. During the three-day convention, students painted the mural live at the Liquitex booth in the exhibit hall, where more than 4,000 art educators were invited to view its progress. The completed mural will be installed on the West Jefferson High School campus.

This visual arts project was made possible by Keith Eccles, West Jefferson art instructor and alumnus, and Liquitex accounts manager Bill Worley, who is also a graduate of West Jefferson High School.

Congratulations to the West Jefferson team on being selected for this project!
