Two Haynes Academy Students Selected As Candidates for Presidential Scholars

Two Haynes Academy students have been selected as candidates for the U. S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Anna Reine and Jordana Williams, both seniors at Haynes Academy, have been recognized by the U. S. Presidential Scholars Program to honor some of the country’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.

Each year, approximately 3,000 academic candidates are named based on broad academic achievement and SAT and ACT scores.  Approximately 560 candidates are named semifinalists and forwarded to a commission for further review.  In April, the Commission on Presidential Scholars reviews the applications of all semi-finalists and selects up to 121 academic scholars and up to 20 arts scholars.  Only 141 students will be named U.S. Presidential Scholars.  All scholars will be honored for their accomplishments during National Recognition Week, held in June in Washington, D.C.
