Thomas Jefferson Students ‘Fake the Funk’ to Raise Some Real Money for Theater Program

ITSTheater students at Thomas Jefferson High are using a type of performance art made famous by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to raise money that will help renovate their stage.

The Thomas Jefferson High International Thespian Society presents the inaugural Fake the Funk lip sync competition. The event takes place Friday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. In addition to performances by students in the school’s thespian troupe, patrons can expect to see acts from Thomas Jefferson faculty and staff, as well as from Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies students, faculty, and staff. The first place prize is a free lunch from the school’s thespian honor society.

The entire community is invited to join the fun. Tickets are $2 for students and $3 for adults. Click here to download the event flyer.
