Thomas Jefferson High School Student Awarded National Scholarship

Thomas Jefferson High School student Shauna Moore has received a prestigious QuestBridge Scholarship providing her with a four-year tuition scholarship including room and board for an estimated total of $240,000.

Moore, who is a senior at Thomas Jefferson and attends the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) won the award in the creative writing category. Only 300 students from across the nation where matched by QuestBridge for this incredible award.

QuestBridge is a non-profit organization that has worked since 1994 to connect bright, motivated, low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at some of the nation’s best colleges and universities. Moore worked with the organization’s National College Match program allowing her to complete one application, applying to various partner universities and their four-year scholarships.

She plans to attend the University of Chicago in the fall of 2012.
