Talented Theater Students Present Charlotte’s Web

Fourth and fifth grade talented theater students at Gretna No. 2 Academy recently entertained their peers with a production of “Charlotte’s Web.”

Teacher Morrey McElroy selected the play having loved the story since she was in the third grade.

“It is a very important introduction to children about friendship and personal loss,” she said. “I knew that we had the right group of kids who could handle the material.”

McElroy believes that in order to participate, a student does not have to be an actor.

“It’s about working on their presentation skills, their communication skills, and their confidence. These skills will be important for them as they go through middle and high school.”
