Students Compete in First Digital Media Fair

The first-ever JPPSS Digital Media Awards will be presented on February 21 at Adams Middle School, celebrating the best student-produced digital video projects of the 2010-2011 school year.

Almost 140 students in the Jefferson Parish Public School System will present their digital video projects at the Digital Media Fair at Adams Middle School.  The projects will showcase the quality and variety of work from students.  The Digital Media Fair will also demonstrate how JPPSS teachers are using 21st century technology skills to support the JPPSS curriculum.

Currently, 17 schools have made it through the preliminary round of competition in 4 major grade levels.  At the Fair, a panel of judges will review the projects and then make the awards for the district.

The awards will be based on creativity, innovation, and effective use of digital media.

The judging and awards will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
