School System Dedicates Building Late Assistant Superintendent

The Jefferson Parish Public School System will hold a dedication and unveiling ceremony at its eastbank office building after the late Paul E. Emenes on October 8 at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the dedication ceremony, a reception will be held.

Located on Clearview Parkway in Harahan, the two-story building consists of management and administrative offices, conference rooms, evacuation center, and redundant computer facility that support the school system.

Earlier this year, the School Board announced the naming of its Special Services Center in honor of Paul E. Emenes. This unique building will enable students and parents to access expertise in many educational issues and programs.

Mr. Emenes died on March 11 after collapsing prior to the start of a forum for candidates in the parish council’s 5th district race.

Emenes, 77, was the assistant superintendent representing the eastbank of the school system.
