We’ve all felt the life changing impact of a teacher. A high-quality educator can literally alter the course of a life. We want to create more of these moments for our students…and to do so we must invest in professional development for our teachers.
Jefferson Parish Public Schools is joining high-performing districts across the nation by implementing Professional Learning Communities. PLCs give teachers time to collaborate, analyze data, and share solutions that help target the needs of every child.
To give teachers this much needed time, Jefferson Parish and school across the nation hold late take-in days. We will hold four late take-in days this school year. On these days, students will report to school two and a half hours after their normal start time. Buses will still run and lunch will still be served. All after school activities will go on as planned.
If you’d like to learn more about PLCs and the late take-in days, please download our Frequently Asked Questions guide. The FAQ is also available in Spanish, Arabic, and Vietnamese.
