Patrick Taylor Academy Teacher Honored as Regional Educator of the Year by LACUE

Kelly-MaherPatrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy teacher Kelly Maher was named Region I Educator of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE) at their recently held conference in New Orleans. The award recognizes educators for demonstrating outstanding teaching and learning through the use of classroom technology.

In addition to teaching technology and computer science courses at Taylor, Maher serves as the school’s technology coordinator and webmaster. In fall 2014, she was selected to be a member of the Jefferson Parish Public School System’s inaugural cohort of Distinguished Digital Educators, a group of outstanding teachers who model for the entire district how technology impacts student achievement. Maher holds a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in educational technology from Northwestern State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida.
