Ochsner Summer Program Offers Hands-on Medical Training for Louisiana High School Students

Ochsner STAROchsner Health Systems is looking for Louisiana high school students who’d like to dedicate part of their summer vacation towards a future career in science and medicine.

One of the nation’s largest independent academic health systems is holding an informational session for its Science-Technology-Academics-Research (STAR) program on February 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ochsner Medical Center on 1514 Jefferson Highway.

STAR is a 5-week summer program for Louisiana high school students that focuses on developing leaders in the fields of science, medicine, and other areas of healthcare. The program offers qualified students a unique opportunity to explore the world of healthcare through hands-on experiments. STAR places special emphasis on young people with limited means and access.
