New Website Addition Spotlights Local, National Student Opportunities

Ochsner STARWhether you’re a parent looking for an enriching summer camp for your child, a teacher seeking a challenging academic contest for your class, or a student in search of an unforgettable experience with like-minded young people, jpschools.org has created a page just for you.

The Student Opportunities page on the Jefferson Parish Public School System website will feature contests, camps, workshops, scholarships, and other educational outlets for young people. Current posts include a trio of summer camps and an essay contest offered by the National WWII Museum, a summer institute for students planning to major in mathematics at Dillard University, and a national organization looking for young women interested in science and engineering.

Parents, students, and educators are encouraged to check the site periodically for updated posts. These student opportunities will also be shared on the district’s Facebook and Twitter pages. If you’d like to submit an event for Student Opportunities, contact Ted Beasley at theodore.beasley@jppss.k12.la.us.
