Naturalization Ceremony Offers Living Civics Lesson for JPPSS Students

“People see America as a beacon of hope and that’s why they come here. It makes me proud of America.” – Helen Cox High student Waseem Thobata

It was a living civic lesson that made a true impact on our students. These young people from Fisher Middle-High, Haynes Academy, and Helen Cox High attended a naturalization ceremony. They saw people from different races and backgrounds achieve their goal of becoming a U.S. citizen and learned what kind of work goes into this life-changing process.
