Meisler Celebrates School Improvement

To celebrate their school improving from a letter grade of “C” to a “B,” J.D Meisler Middle School held a Turkey Bowl – an afternoon of fun, games, and refreshments.

Students in each grade voted for six of their classmates to form a team to participate in the competitions. The teachers also had a team.

Eighth grade teacher Shelby Strong was a team member and the winner of the pie eating contest.

“Turkey Bowl is my favorite day of the year. Middle school is that interesting time. The kids are really funny at this age and they get really excited for the games,” she said.

The teachers did not prevail as victors for the second year in a row. That honor went to the eight grade team. The teachers came in second, followed by the seventh grade team in third place and the sixth grade team in fourth place.
