Governor John Bel Edwards has proclaimed Literacy Week in Louisiana February 11-17.

Literacy Week is an opportunity to promote and recognize the importance of literacy in Louisiana and participate in programs, ceremonies, and activities targeted at giving children and young adults the gift, joy, and promise of reading.

Earlier this school year, the Jefferson Parish Public School System announced the launch of the reading initiative, “I Read! You Read! Together we all READ!” To learn more about this initiative and how you can help us reach our goal of all students reading on level by the first grade, click this link.
