Library Media Coordinator Selected as the Region I Leader of the Year for LACUE

Sheree Caminita, Library Media Coordinator for JPPSS, was nominated and selected as the Region I Leader of the Year for LACUE. LACUE is a professional nonprofit organization that recognizes and promotes the use of computers in education. Its officers, directors and board members include education professionals from across the state. Sheree was nominated because of her effective use and integration of educational technology, as well as her leadership in implementing such technologies across the district. Mrs. Caminita, a National Board Certified Librarian, serves as the Library Media Coordinator for our district and oversees 80 librarians and 15 READ 180 teachers. In addition she is an executive member of the Louisiana Association of School Librarians (LASL), where she works with other library supervisors across the state making decisions for all librarians state-wide. She organizes, plans and conducts professional development sessions throughout the school year for schools and district employees, with a large focus on educational technology. Mrs. Caminita is now in the running for the state level award, which will be announced at the annual conference. She will be formally recognized as the Region I winner at the LACUE Annual Conference this November.
