Knit One, Purl Two at Metairie Academy

It’s not just reading, writing, and arithmetic at Metairie Academy. Students are given the opportunity to sing in the choir, play the bells, work on the yearbook, and even take up knitting in what the school calls “enrichment clusters.”

Principal Helen Blanke believes that the clusters are important because students can study an area of interest. Clusters meet twice per week and students can participate in different activities every nine weeks.
