In addition, the Jefferson Parish School Board has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for its audited Consolidated Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2013.

“The Certificate of Excellence for Financial Reporting award demonstrates our district’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency,” said Superintendent Dr. James Meza, Jr. “I want to congratulate our finance team members for their hard work and continued commitment to the success of our district.”

The Certificate of Achievement Excellence is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“This recognition provides the assurance that our annual audit is subject to peer review,” said Chief Financial Officer Robert Fulton. “It demonstrates that we met or exceeded all disclosure requirements and that our footnotes and other descriptions were easily understood.”

This year’s awards by the GFOA and ASBO mark the 22nd consecutive year that Jefferson Parish has been recognized.
