The Jefferson Parish Public School System would like to remind high school seniors that submitting a FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a graduation requirement for all Louisiana high school seniors.

This online application takes less than an hour to complete and requires information from students and parents. Your school’s library has computers that are designated for FAFSA completion if you do not have computer or internet access at home.

Parents and guardians of seniors who have not completed the application are encouraged to attend one of the district’s Parent FAFSA Days. We will have computers available and staff members in place to help facilitate the process. There will also be interpreters on hand to assist our ESL parents.

Parent FAFSA Days will be April 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the JPPSS Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey and April 21 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bonnabel Magnet Academy High at 2801 Bruin Drive in Kenner.

Please visit louisianabelieves.com for a checklist of information required to complete and submit your application.

Opt-out forms and waivers are available through your school’s counselor for students choosing not to pursue college or technical training.

Graduations are just around the corner and it is imperative that you complete and submit your FAFSA as soon as possible to ensure that you fulfill all requirements in order to graduate with your class.
