Jefferson Parish Public School System’s (JPPSS) Anti-Bullying Week fittingly culminated with an event that brought together school families, community members, and organizations dedicated to creating nurturing environments for all children.

Families Helping Families of Jefferson held the 5K & Fun Run Against Bullying on October 3 at LaSalle Park. The honorary co-chairs for the event were Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand and JPPSS Superintendent Isaac G. Joseph.

“Thanks to Families Helping Families for making us a part of this,” said Joseph, “and for the partnership with the sheriff’s department so we can have our employees and their families and friends come out and take part in this event.”

The well attended event featured a number of participants from schools across JPPSS. Joseph encouraged each runner as they crossed the finish line, then handed out awards to the winners in each category.
