When Jefferson Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley unveiled the district’s strategic plan earlier this year, partnering with the community was a priority. JP Schools’ latest announcement is one of the numerous steps the district is taking to make good on the commitment to give the community opportunities to support students and schools.

JP Schools is launching the Adopt-A-School program. Its goal is to partner every school in the district with an organization willing to invest time and resources into the students, staff, and school.

“Educating our kids is important work that matters to everyone who lives or works in Jefferson Parish,” said Dr. Brumley. “We’ve set ambitious goals for our district, but we can’t do this alone. I’m calling on our community and business leaders to rally around our public school system and help us move Jefferson Parish forward together.”

The district has created a web page ( where the community can learn more about the program and submit an application. From donating money, time, or resources, there are a number of ways organizations can benefit students. The district is strategically partnering applicants with the school where they can make the most impact.

“As I’ve met with community leaders over the past year, many groups have expressed a willingness to help – they just weren’t sure how or where to start,” said Dr. Brumley. “Our Adopt-A-School program creates a way to streamline a process that will lead to life-changing opportunities for our kids. “

Implementing an Adopt-A-School program for the community to partner with and support individual schools is an action step in the district’s strategic plan, 2024: The Future Our Kids Deserve.
