Jefferson Dollars for Scholars Set for Golden Tassel Gathering on Oct. 7

Jefferson Dollars for Scholars is hosting the SCHOLARtinis, Savouries, and Sweets Golden Tassel Gathering on Friday, October 7 to help further the academic goals of students in the Jefferson Parish Public School System.

Sponsored by First NBC Bank, the event takes place from 7-10 p.m. at the home of Ashton and Jolene Ryan at 131 Chateau St. Michel in Kenner. Tickets are $85 each or $150 for two and can be purchased on the Jefferson Dollars for Scholars website. Food will be provided by a number of local organizations and there will be a silent auction.

The mission of Jefferson Dollars for Scholars is to expand access to educational opportunities for Jefferson Parish Public School System students through scholarships and academic support. Founded in 1993, Jefferson Dollars for Scholars has awarded more than $20 million in scholarships to over 5,000 students. It is the only chapter to be nationally recognized three times for outstanding work and commitment to its recipients.

Jefferson Dollars for Scholars is a chapter of Scholarship America, the largest privately funded scholarship organization in the world. There are nearly 1,000 chapters nation-wide. Like all other chapters, Jefferson Dollars for Scholars is a local, grassroots organization that gets all of its funding from grants, private businesses, and corporations, as well as parents, friends and supporters of its cause.
