Helen Cox High Cheerleaders Bring Home Another National Title

The Helen Cox High Cheerleaders are back-to-back national champions after another magical trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The Lady Cougars placed first in Small Varsity Non-Tumbling Game Day at the 2017 National High School Cheerleading Championship. Helen Cox High also placed third in World School Small Varsity Non-Tumbling and seventh in the Small Varsity Non-Tumbling national competition.

The Lady Cougars took first in the Small Varsity Non-Tumbling national competition last year.

The Helen Cox High Cheerleaders are Whitney Walker, Alexis Carroll, Deja Durant, Mercedes Walker, Sha’kira Reynolds, Jakobe Lecoq, Skye Love, Nyla Gray, Deja Allen, Breanna Byrd, Shantrice Dorsey, JaQuan Harris and Tavis Hart. The Lady Cougars are coached by LaToya Bailey and Darrell Williams.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.
