Free STEM Nola Event for Students & Parents Saturday, December 9

STEM NOLA will be celebrating its 4th Year Anniversary of “STEM Saturdays with Dr. Calvin Mackie” on Saturday, December 9 at Joe Brown Recreation Center located at 5601 Read Blvd from 9 a.m. to noon. STEM NOLA will host a free, fun-filled day of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). Kids and parents can arrive anytime from 9 a.m. to noon to Innovate, Create and Make at over 40 different STEM stations. All participants must register online at stemnola.com. Activities will kick off promptly at 9 a.m. with a short program. (Please note: This is NOT a Drop-off event, all kids must be accompanied by an adult and may arrive at anytime during the 3 hour event!)

Children and adults of all ages are invited to participate in hand-on activities, perform experiments, design and program robots, race remote control (RC) cars, virtual reality and artificial intelligence demonstrations, build tooth-pick bridges and towers, fly drones, hydrodynamics, chemistry, life science and launch rockets. STEM NOLA will introduce a new MAKERS Space area where kids will design and build all types of items to take home.
