Five JPPSS students to compete in 2013 GUMBO state invitational meet

trackFive Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS) students will participate in the state GUMBO invitational meet this month. GUMBO (Games Uniting Mind and Body) is a track and field competition designed for school aged students who have physical or visual disabilities.

Representing JPPSS are Alejendro Banegas (Meisler), Christopher Boudreaux (Estelle), Rivers Lacrouts (Riviere), Brian Maldonado (Meisler) and Denzel Parker (Ehret).

“We are so proud of these students for their accomplishments,” said Superintendent James Meza, Jr. “I’d also like to congratulate and thank their volunteer coaches – Elouise Chiasson and Rhonda Lawland – for their commitment to our students.”
