East Jefferson High School Makes History with State Championship Win

The 2013 East Jefferson Warrior football team has made school history by being the first team to win the Class 4A state championship game of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Farm Prep Classic on Saturday, December 14. The school bested the Karr Cougars, the defending champions, winning 38-28.

The team, under the coaching staff of Nick Saltformaggio, finishes the season 15-0, including 8 shut outs. Ranked number 4 in the state going into Saturday’s championships, the Warriors beat the number 2 ranked Karr, along with the number 1 and 5 ranked teams, Neville and Easton, on its way to clinching the state championship.
