Dr. Brumley’s 100-Day Plan Weekly Update: May 4

This is the third in a weekly series of posts updating the public on the progress of Dr. Cade Brumley’s 100-day entry plan. The video above was presented to the school board during the meeting on May 2. To view his complete plan, click here. To view a table outlining his progress to date, click here.

It was anything but an ordinary end to the week for Marrero Middle student Corey Fluker. JPPSS Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley surprised the seventh grader Friday morning with the news that they would be spending the morning together. Dr. Brumley attended classes with Fluker to learn more about our district from a student’s perspective. Spending a day shadowing a student is just one of the strategies outlined in his plan, Love to Learn; Learn to Lead: A 100-Day Investment for a Stronger JPPSS.

Here is what Dr. Brumley has done this week as he works towards completing his plan and helping build a strong foundation for the future of our students.

  • Presented his 100-day entry plan to the Jefferson Parish delegation at the Louisiana legislature
  • Met with U.S. Representative Steve Scalise at the Jefferson Prayer Breakfast
  • Met with Louisiana Representative Rodney Lyons
  • Met with the Dandridge Community Taskforce and the Louisiana Association of Principals
  • Met with Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and President Todd Murphy
  • Submitted a redesign grant for a Transformation Zone that will provide extra support and resources for our highest-need schools as part of an equity agenda
