Dr. Brumley’s 100-Day Plan Weekly Update: June 15

As Dr. Brumley’s 100-day plan enters the home stretch, the new JPPSS superintendent is making sure to finish strong. This week featured a series of meetings with district, local, and state leaders. Meeting with local and state elected officials and hosting listening sessions for community leaders are part of the strategies outlined in his plan, Love to Learn; Learn to Lead: A 100-Day Investment for a Stronger JPPSS.


Here is what Dr. Brumley was up to this week as he works towards completing his plan and helping build a strong foundation for the future of our students.

  • Met with leadership from Stand for Children and Families Helping Families
  • Conducted JPPSS principal interviews
  • Met with Louisiana Representative (District 87) Rodney Lyons
  • Met with Pastor Ryan Melson and Rev. Orrin Grant, Sr.
  • Conducted multiple small group meetings with members of the Jefferson Parish School Board
  • Appeared on the New Orleans Baby Cakes podcast, Inside the Shrine, and on Kenner public access television
  • Met with Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni and his executive staff
  • Met with BESE member James Garvey
  • Participated in JPPSS Communications Department projects to wish dads a happy Father’s Day and to promote his Twitter chat for district educators
  • Hosted his second Twitter chat. This digital conversation was for JPPSS educators to share their viewpoints on teaching and learning in the district
