Collins Elementarty & Strehle Elementary will be Open Tuesday, November 14

Collins Elementary and Strehle Elementary will reopen and resume their normal schedules on Tuesday, November 14. Strehle Elementary was closed today due to a fire in the main electrical panel at the school. Collins Elementary lost power today and students were transported to Marrero Middle.

Nov. 13, 2017: Collins Elementary is Without Power, Students Moved to Marrero Middle

Collins Elementary is without power and its students have been transported to Marrero Middle. Students are safe and will still be provided school meals and bus transportation home. Collins Elementary parents who wish to check their child out of school may do so at Marrero Middle, which is located at 4100 7th Street in Marrero.

Strehle Closed Monday, November 13th

The Jefferson Parish Public School System has announced that Catherine Strehle Elementary School in Avondale will be closed on Monday, November 13th due to a fire in the main electrical panel at the school. The situation is being evaluated and the district will announce any further closure of Strehle should it become necessary.
