2014 “A” and “B” Schools Celebrate Academic Excellence

On October 22, 2014, the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS) held a celebratory event for schools that received “A” or “B” grades on the 2014 school report cards, recently released by the Louisiana Department of Education. Principals, teachers, parents, and students from the honored schools, along with school board member and district staff, gathered at the Administration Building for a reception, which included a special presentation of a “top school” flag for each school.

In 2014, 39 JPPSS schools received the “A” or “B” grade, and all eight of the district’s Advanced Study Academies were ranked among the top 25 schools in the state of Louisiana. Patrick F. Taylor Academy and Haynes Academy ranked number two and three in the state; Metairie Academy was the top ranked elementary school in the state and Ruppel Academy was the top ranked middle school in the state.

Congratulations to these and all of our schools for their performance in the 2013-14 school year!
